Academic Chronology
Mr. Zahir did his graduation in Civil Engineering from BUET in 1984 and later completed M. Engg. in Water Resources Engineering from BUET in 1995.
Professional Track Record
Mr. Zahir has a long professional career of 24 years in river and coastal hydraulics and morphology, planning and management of water resources. Vast experience in the study of flow dynamics, waves, storm surges, flood and drainage management, impact assessment of climate change and sea level rise, hydrological and hydrodynamic modeling, wave, storm surge and morphological modeling. Worked as a team leader for a number of detailed feasibility study projects and technical feasibility study projects to guide the study team for planning and design of drainage and erosion mitigation measures and land reclamation. He is experienced in writing inception, technical and final reports. Ample experience in organizing interaction meetings, local and national workshops. Prepared over 40 technical reports and 25 Final reports. Worked as a focal point for integrated coastal zone management (ICZM, WARPO).

Mr. Zahir has obtained several professional training both at home and abroad on numerical modeling, coastal hydraulics, river hydrology and morphology, flood management, report writing and project management. Authored and presented over 10 technical papers in National and International Seminars.He owns a few publications on tidal river management, coastal morphology, impact assessment of climate change. Fellow (F5705) IEB.
