PROFILE DESCRIPTIONS

Academic Chronology

S. M. Sahabuddin completed his graduation in Civil Engineering from the Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) in December 2008 and later completed his Master of Engineering in Water Resources Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in September 2018.

Professional Track Record

S. M. Sahabuddin has professional experience of more than 16 years in the field of hydrology, hydrogeology, mathematical modelling. Involved in several projects with the responsibility of necessary data collection, quality checking and processing. Experience in the development, calibration and validation of surface water and groundwater interaction models using MIKE 11 (HD & NAM), MIKE SHE, FEEFLOW, MODFLOW modeling tools.

During the continuous service at IWM, work as a key team member in various national-scale studies. In the early stages of his career, he gained hands-on experience in hydrological and statistical analyses, hydrogeological investigations, and hydrodynamic modeling.

Developed advanced skills in hydrologic and hydrogeologic modeling utilizing tools such as MIKE SHE, MIKE 11, and MODFLOW to assess groundwater resources, quantifies surface water–groundwater exchanges, drawdown behavior and aquifer storage dynamics and simulations to forecast groundwater trends under alternative abstraction, land-use and climate scenarios.
