PROFILE DESCRIPTIONS
Academic Chronology
Mr. Rubel Ahmmed completed his graduation in Water Resources Engineering from BUET, Dhaka in 2021 and is currently pursuing his M.Sc. in Water Resources Engineering at BUET.
Professional Track Record
Rubel Ahmmed is a water resources engineer with expertise spanning field data acquisition, hydraulic modelling, and AI-driven morphological analysis. He began his career at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) in 2022 within the Survey & Data Division, where he led field survey teams, supervised data collection, and ensured rigorous data quality assurance. He processed hydrographic and topographic data including Single Beam/Multibeam Echo Sounder and ADCP surveys to deliver high quality deliverables and contributed to technical report writing for clients.
In 2024, he transitioned to IWM’s River Morphology and Engineering Division, specializing in numerical modelling of river systems. He is proficient in hydro-morphological modelling using MIKE 21C and hydrodynamic modelling in HEC-RAS, with expertise in bridge hydraulics. He conducts comprehensive hydro-morphological studies for bridge projects and prepares detailed modelling reports.
He is also skilled in geospatial analysis (ArcGIS, QGIS), remote sensing (Google Earth Engine), and leverages Python to implement deep learning architectures (CNN, RNN, LSTM, GAN, UNET) for river planform analysis.
