Academic Chronology

Mr. Md. Mahedi Bin Mostafa completed his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Water Resources Engineering (WRE) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in July 2014. He later completed his Master of Science (M.Sc.) in WRE from BUET in March 2022.

Professional Track Record

Mr. Mostafa has a professional career of more than 10 years as a highly skilled and dedicated water resources engineer, specializing in hydraulic and hydrodynamic modeling, as well as the design of water supply, sanitation, and urban drainage systems. Since joining the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) in October 2015 as Junior Engineer, he has played impactful role for successful completion of more than 15 projects in Bangladesh, with support from the WB, ADB, EDCF, NDB and GoB.

He is responsible for managing project teams, leading project activities, and delivering engineering solutions, utilizing software like Bentley WaterGEMS, Bentley SewerGEMS, Bentley HAMMER, MIKE+, MIKE URBAN, AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Google Earth, and Python. In recent roles, he has demonstrated leadership by overseeing teams from data collection and model development to final reporting, dissemination, and on-site construction supervision. He also brings extensive experience in developing models, reporting, outline and detailed designing, Bill of Quantities (BOQ) estimation, and tender document preparation (following PPR 2008, FIDIC, ADB and the WB procurement guideline), along with ensuring quality control during construction. Earlier, from September 2014 to September 2015, he worked as a Junior River Training Engineer at ACE Consultant Ltd. (sister concern of SMEC Bangladesh).
