Academic Chronology

Dipta Prahar Dutt completed his graduation in Water Resources Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in March 2016. He also completed Master of Engineering in Water Resources Engineering from the same university in August 2023.

Professional Track Record

He began his professional career as a Junior Engineer at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) in September 2016. Since then, he has been engaged in a wide range of projects including feasibility studies for water supply, flood management, urban drainage, and wastewater management schemes funded by Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank, International Development Association (IDA) and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), UNICEF, Government of Bangladesh etc. He possesses extensive experience in conducting field visits, leading and supporting study teams, collecting primary data using specialized tools and techniques, processing and validating secondary data, and performing data analysis with statistical software. His expertise also includes preparing and reviewing technical reports, supervising and monitoring project implementation, and ensuring quality control of design documents, AutoCAD drawings, and project databases.

In addition, he has actively contributed to technical, feasibility, and master plan report preparation, project management, and stakeholder engagement, including focus group discussions (FGDs) through participatory approach. He is proficient in hydraulic and hydrodynamic modeling using software such as Bentley SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, MIKE+, Delft3D, and HEC-RAS, as well as in utilizing Google Earth imagery, GIS mapping in ArcGIS and QGIS, and database management and drafting software i.e., AutoCAD, Civil 3D. His skills also extend to qualitative and quantitative research and effectively disseminating project outcomes through workshops, seminars, and meetings.
