PROFILE DESCRIPTIONS

Academic Chronology

He completed his Bachelor of Science in Water Resources Engineering (WRE) from the Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) in August 2025.

Professional Track Record

Md. Modasshir Rokon has built a professional background as a Junior Engineer at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM) since December 2025, actively contributing to water resources and irrigation-related projects, including irrigation rehabilitation studies, conjunctive use assessment of surface and groundwater, and irrigation strategic analysis. As a Junior Engineer, involved in the rehabilitation of Low Lift Pump irrigation projects in Dinajpur, Thakurgaon, and Panchagarh, conducting field visits, delineating command areas, surveying LLP sites, and preparing thematic maps using GIS, along with supporting project documentation and stakeholder coordination.

Previously, in September 2025, Rokon worked as an Intern Engineer, on the exploration of conjunctive use of surface and groundwater in the Barind region, processing hydrological datasets (rainfall, groundwater level, evaporation) using Python, performing data cleaning and gap filling, preparing model input datasets, and developing DFS files for MIKE Zero. Also contributed to irrigation strategic analysis projects using LiDAR and photogrammetric data by digitizing canal layouts in ArcGIS, preparing proposed maps, and conducting GIS-based spatial analysis to support prototype development and planning for increased crop production.
