Mohammed Murshed Alam is a professional Hydrogeologist at the Institute of Water Modelling (IWM), Bangladesh, with experience of over seventeen years in groundwater resource assessment, managed aquifer recharge, groundwater monitoring network design and data management, and well construction supervision. He acquired his Master of Science in Geology with specialization in Hydrogeology and Environmental Geology from the University of Dhaka. Mr. Alam has contributed to numerous projects focusing on groundwater assessment and modeling, artificial recharge studies, and environmental impact assessment, working with international and national organizations such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), UNICEF, Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (DWASA), Chattogram Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (CWASA), Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE), BCMCL, BAEC, and BEZA. His professional interests include sustainable groundwater development, aquifer performance evaluation, groundwater quality, and hydro-stratigraphic mapping, especially for urban and coastal aquifers. He has published research on aquifer potential and safe water supply, demonstrating his commitment to applying scientific approaches to address practical water management challenges in Bangladesh, and he provides training and technical guidance on water resource assessment, water well design, construction, and groundwater monitoring.
